Experience and Service

Scotty developed a passion for history and politics from a young age as he watched his dad serve on the Ouachita Parish School Board for over 20 years. In 2011, Scotty was elected to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury at the age of 25 becoming the youngest juror in Louisiana history.

At age 29, he began serving as the President of Ouachita Parish, a parish consisting of 156,000 people and over 800 miles of roads. He has been re-elected twice without opposition and is currently serving his third term.

Scotty has also taken an active role serving on the executive board of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana, an organization that seeks improve parish government. He will serve as the President of the Association for 2020 (LPGOV.ORG).
